The Castle Grounds, my favourite pub

After 3 months of studying, eating and partying in Coventry – shorter than anticipated – I can definitely deem The Castle Grounds my favourite pub. Their cosy interior makes you feel right at home and there’s always something going on.

Activities, activities, activities

Every Monday night The Castle Grounds hosts a speed quiz, which plenty of people participate in, creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the pub. Wednesdays are for Coventry’s student unions, so you’ll see a lot of people dressed up and singing. Very entertaining! Not a fan of quizzes or loud singing? The Castle Grounds also shows the major sports games. You can even book a table in advance to make sure you’re seated.

Cocktails, gin & craft beer

Although I have never tasted the food, it always smelled delicious coming out of the kitchen. Of course, I did enjoy a cocktail or two during one of the many times we visited. That’s another thing I love about the UK; in almost every pub, you’ll get two cocktails for one at certain hours! My cocktail(s) did not disappoint … Next to a huge cocktail and gin menu, they have a changing selection of craft beers, which we obviously appreciated.
