Kasbah is an established name in Coventry’s nightlife. Every local and international student knows it and has been there at least once. It’s also the club that was recommended to me the most when talking to Belgians who studied in Coventry as well. My roomies and I did as we were told and checked it out on our first night out in Coventry.

Our first night at Kasbah was glorious and so much fun! We were astonished by the hugeness of the club and the people in rubber boats surfing the crowd. But as with every club, the magic wears off when you have been a few times. The second time was less fun… Maybe because we had to queue up and it was raining? We were not feeling the wait and paid the queue-jump option, which was £ 10, double the price of standard entry.

No cash, no entry

One important thing about Kasbah is to always bring cash with you as they don’t accept credit cards. Luckily, there is an ATM machine inside, as well as a cloakroom. With three rooms and a capacity of 1350 people, it’s safe to say that Kasbah is enormous. It’s normal to feel lost – especially when you’re a bit tipsy – and finding your friends can be quite the task.

Bubbleluv Mondays, Kinky Fridays and Tricky Disco Saturdays

Monday, Bubbleluv, is the traditional student night at Kasbah with cheap drink prices and music for everyone, from cheesy party classics to upcoming live music and alternative disco! I do have to admit the strong liquor is a bargain, certainly compared to Belgium. On the other hand, drinking acceptable beer – like Stella Artois – will almost cost you a weekly wage.

Next to Bubbleluv Monday, they also host parties on Friday and Saturdays and live acts, including alternative and indie performers. Did you know they previously featured Calvin Harris and Arctic Monkeys? On top of that, they occasionally organise special events such as day sessions, the perfect excuse for day drinking!

Important note

Unfortunately, Kasbah is closed due to Coronavirus measures in the UK. Feeling bored and missing Kasbah? Have a look at Kasbah’s Facebook page, their marketing team is 10/10!

Although your nights at Kasbah will never be as magical as the first one, it’s definitely worth the visit(s) if you’re up for some good all-night-long partying (when they re-open).
